Gary Macfarlane, Ecosystem Defense Director

Gary Macfarlane is FOC's Ecosystem Defense Director. His duty is to keep tabs on Forest Service proposals, oversee our various programs, and provide help with issues and organizing activities. Gary has over 20 years of activist experience and is very familiar with Forest Service policy. He has been recognized as one of the most effective activists in the northern Rockies, as recipient of the Alliance for the Wild Rockies Conservation Award in 1997 while volunteering. Will Boyd, Education and Outreach Director

Will oversees FOC's outreach activities while educating community members about the wild Clearwater country and expanding public involvement in protection of regional wildlife and wildlands. He organizes educational events and outings, informs people of pertinent issues through the website and newsletters, and coordinates publicity for FOC initiatives and projects. Will is the father of three boys, a husband, and is currently working as a carpenter. He earned his B.S. in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, did graduate work in forest ecology and ornithology at North Carolina State University. Will loves being with his family in the Clearwater wildlands, especially the roadless country of the North Fork, while camping, swimming, hiking, hunting, and learning more about wildland ecology.
