Idaho is exempt from Obama administration decision

Roadless forests in Idaho were excluded from an Obama administration decision to place a one-year moratorium on road building and other developments on 50 million acres of federally owned roadless areas.

Upper Lochsa Land Exchange Informational Meeting

The newly formed Friends of the Palouse Ranger District are sponsoring an informational program from retired Forest Service employees about the specific national forest parcels in our area proposed for exchange in the Upper Lochsa Land Exchange. Friends of the Clearwater will be in attendance and have an informational table at the event.

Wildlife monitoring station set up & training (May 28)

If you are interested in identifying bobcats, weasels, fisher, squirrels, and mice by their tracks join us as we enter into our fourth field season of wildlife monitoring in the Clearwater National Forest. We will be driving east from Moscow to Bovill, Idaho and heading north to Feather Creek, an area that has relatively recently had unecessary forest roads decomissioned and removed.

On May 5, 2009 the House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands held a hearing on the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act (NREPA) HR 980. Finally, after 17 years of playing the waiting game, the time for NREPA is now, and we need you to take action.
