New NREPA Map
NREPA.pdf backgrounder The Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act (H.R. 980) has now been introduced into the U.S. Congress. This bill would protect wild country across the Northern Rockies and the wild far roaming creatures found here. It was crafted by the people who know the land best, individuals and grassroots conservation groups from Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Washington, and Oregon. Friends of the Clearwater, the Sierra Club, Hells Canyon Preservation Council, the Alliance for the Wild Rockies, and many other public land advocates support passage of this legislation.

Newspaper contact information Contact the House Natural Resources Committee urging committee members to co-sponsor! Contact the Committee office at (202) 225-6065. Making a phone call is always the most effective way to communicate! Yes, believe it or not, the elected officials in Washington D.C. do actually take a count of the phone calls they get and use this information as an indicator of the public support for a policy. This is actually used as ammunition during negotiation processes and is often the final word to justify one stance or another because under it all, everyone realizes that nobody is absolutely safe from being 'unelected'.
