during the past 12 months have been: (indicate progress toward job-related
goals as well as special projects). Development of Couer d'Alene salmander
project and recruitment of project leader, Adrienne Boland Grant from
Charlotte Martin Foundation ($6000) for Couer d'Alene salamander project
Recruitment of Outreach Intern & delegation of Clearwater Defender newsletter
Worked cooperatively with other conservation related groups and agencies in
the Palouse Organized 3rd meeting of the Palouse area conservation groups to
further collaboration (40 attendees representing 30 groups) Grant from Maki
Foundation ($5000) for ORV Monitoring & recruitment of field monitor, James
Holt Major web overhaul (work by Om Goeckermann) including Wild Scribes list,
digital maps, and much more Organized Earth Day film by Roger Ingraham,
co-sponsored by Palouse Audubon Gave Presentations to local high schools
(Moscow, Pullman, Asotin) Worked cooperatively with Defenders of Wildlife,
Wolf Recovery Foundation, Wolf Education Research Center and others on Idaho
wolf issues Organized annual meeting Formed Education Working Group to assess
our efforts and to prioritize needs (new website, digital projector--both
accomplished) Continued efforts to make office more visitor friendly 2) The

important contribution to my work area is: 4) In the past year, I offered the
following suggestions or ideas for improving productivity or service:
Spending more time in schools, increasing local collaboration 5) In the past
year I have developed my skills or have learned/improved competencies in:
Networking Volunteer recruitment Presentation skills Grant Writing Knowledge
of specific issues including Salvage Logging, Forest Service Policy, wolves,
elk, etc. 6) The specific skills or abilities that I would like to
concentrate on developing with additional experience or training in next
year. Effective event planning (emphasizing quality of event and attendance)
Volunteer & Membership Recruitment/Maintenance 7) If there were one thing I
think I could improve in my performance, it would be: Creative and Effective
Fundraising on a larger scale 8) If there were one thing I could change about
my position it would be: More time spent in schools, from Jr. High through
college. 9) Can you think of anything the board do more or differently that
would improve the oveall effectiveness of the organization? Help with
fundraising ideas, planning, and implementation 10) Job goals: List your
specific job-related goals for the next 3, 6 and 12 months. 3 Months: Work
with Adrienne Boland to ensure our second season of salamander monitoring
goes well. We will be including Idaho giants this year in addition to Couer
d'Alene salamanders. Recruit second Spring outreach intern. Bring on
NREPA/Wilderness Intern, who will develop strategy for FOC to create a buzz
about NREPA and wilderness, organize presentations, work with other
supportive groups regionally. 6 Months: Spend time in the field checking up
on salamander work, ORV monitoring, and timber sales, recruit summer intern.
12 Months: Write 1-2 grant proposals per month. Exceed expected budget by 10%
or more. Please rank yourself in the following areas: (1 is highest possible

staff members? 3 For each of the six questions above, please identify one
change that you will make over the course of the next year to improve your
score. 1) Continue to diligently hone communications both written and spoken.
2) Keep running list of article, grant proposal, presentation deadlines very
accessible. 3) Work more diligently to electronically file work on designated
machine. Spend at least 2-3 hours a week in filing/organization. 4) Revisit
work plan periodically. 5) Continue to have good communication throughout the
work day and week, including weekly staff meetings. 6) Continue to learn more
about the Wild Clearwater Country through time in the Wild and through
reading.
