Dear Friends,
Per usual, state and federal agencies have chosen to have important public meetings during the holidays. We wish it weren't so, but since it is, we ask you to pick one meeting and attend if at all possible and please make comments on these two important issues.
Idaho Fish & Game is holding wolf open houses, Tuesday, Dec. 11 in Lewiston and Wednesday, Dec. 12 in Coeur d'Alene. These meetings will introduce the draft wolf management plan and give opportunities for the public to ask questions. This plan would jump start the Lolo Wolf Slaughter which would kill 75% of the wolves in the upper Lochsa this Spring.
Wolf Meeting Details
Lewiston--Tuesday, December 11, 5:00 p.m. at the Fish and Game office, 3316 16th St
Coeur d'Alene--Wednesday, December 12, 7:00 p.m. at the Lake City Senior Center, 1916 Lakewood Drive
Idaho Wolf Plan Alert & Talking Points
The Clearwater National Forest has three open houses scheduled to discuss the release of their draft Travel Plan. The plan would allow proposing illegally created user routes as legitimate and would give no rest to sensitive roadless areas like Weitas Creek, Fish & Hungery Creek, and Pot Mountain. This is our chance to point out these problems and to speak for wild roadless country!
