Dear Friends,
Wild wolves in Idaho need advocates more than ever. For political expediency the state has hastily put together a short-sighted wolf plan that would allow the protected species to be reduced by over 70%. This plan will commence if either de-listing of the protected species or the 10J rule change occurs and will also pave the way for the Lolo Wolf Slaughter to occur. If you remember this proposal would kill up to 75% of wolves in the Upper Lochsa with absolutely no justification scientific or otherwise.

As you also know Clearwater National Forest Travel Planning comments are still being accepted until January 11. Local newspapers and Forest Service district offices have catered this process to motorized interests, without any concessions or consideration to water quality, wildlife, or non-motorized activity. Please read the alert and send comments to comments-northern-clearwater@fs.fed.us. We'd love to see your comments as well!
Clearwater Travel Planning Alert
Today's (Friday, Dec. 28) Moscow Pullman Daily News produced an outrageous article, depicting snowmobilers as traditionalists who are losing more and more of their rights in this travel planning process. We both know nothing could be further from the truth. Please read this article and send a letter to the Daily News for printing.

You have also recently received an update on roadless areas in Idaho. Please read the update and attend the hearing coming up next month! Thanks to strong public support these areas remain roadless and wild. Let's keep them that way.
Wishing you all Happy New Year!
