Dear Friends,
Three very important meetings concerning the Wild Clearwater Country's roadless areas will be happening early next week.
Monday, January 28, 7:00 p.m. at the Orofino Courthouse
Tuesday, January 29, 7:00 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel in Lewiston
Wednesday, January 30, 7:00 p.m. at the Super 8 Hotel in Grangeville
Please attend one or two of these meetings if at all possible and testify on behalf of the Clearwater's remarkable unprotected wild country. The Clearwater, according to a report by World Wildlife Fund in the year 2000, is the most important area for forest carnivores in the U.S. Northern Rockies and well into Canada (from Yellowstone National Park through Southern British Columbia). Because of the lack of roads, clean streams and rivers, and intact forests many rare species find strongholds here.
To help get folks to Orofino and Lewiston we have arranged the following transportation:
A chartered bus will be leaving from Rosauers parking lot on Monday, Jan. 28. Dinner will also be provided on the bus. Meet at 5:00 p.m. to join the Clearwater Crew and head to Orofino with us!
Carpoolers will meet at Rosauers parking lot in Moscow on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 5:45 p.m. to head to the Lewiston meeting.
Please join us in speaking on behalf of these wonderful lands owned by all Americans. Speaking from your heart is the most important thing you can do!
Talking points to help with your statement.
If you cannot make one of the meetings, please send your comment for roadless area protection to
IDcomments@fsroadless.org. The comment deadline is in early April
Stay tuned for more on Clearwater roadless areas, wolves, and more.
all the best,
