Wildlife monitoring station set up & training (May 28)
If you are interested in identifying bobcats, weasels, fisher, squirrels, and mice by their tracks join us as we enter into our fourth field season of wildlife monitoring in the Clearwater National Forest. We will be driving east from Moscow to Bovill, Idaho and heading north to Feather Creek, an area that has relatively recently had unecessary forest roads decomissioned and removed. Along with Wildlands CPR we will be setting up motion-sensitive cameras and track plate stations to record the presence of wildlife in proximity to existsing vs. removed or "ripped" roads. A brief training session explaining weekly data collection will follow. Including driving time this event will last 4-5 hours. Departure time from Moscow will be announced shortly.
