Big Wild Bi-Weekly 9.17.09
Dear Friends,
We have several exciting events coming up soon. Please join us for:
The Wild Clearwater Photodocumentary by Roger Ingharam of Grangeville. Roger is an avid horsepacker, who spends much of his time exploring and observing the Clearwater Backcountry. He will be sharing his footage and stories with us, Tuesday, Sept. 22, 6:30 p.m. UI Law School Classroom 104. Don't miss this great introduction to the Wild Clearwater Country!
Our Back to School Hike to Grandmother Mountain, Saturday, September 26. Meet at Rosauers parking lot in Moscow at 7:00 a.m. This is the closest roadless area to Moscow and a favorite of locals at all times of the year. Dress appropriately, bring food and water, no pets please. Expect to return at approximately 5:00 p.m.
Then, join us as we potluck and wield our might pens and papers at our ORV Letter Writing Potluck, Sept. 26, 6:00 p.m. at East City Park in Moscow. We will be writing the Clearwater National Forest, imploring them to STOP THE MOTORIZED MADNESS and kick the 4-wheelers out of roadless areas. Please bring a dish to pass and your favorite beverage as we gather to socialize and we will provide the tablets and writing instruments :)
Clearwater travel plan comments needed by October 2
As many of you know the Clearwater National Forest has released its Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Travel Planning across the forest. Motorized users are not excluded from any roadless area! Please read our action alert and send your comment to the CNF by October 2

Wolf update
Because of widespread concern and interest in the ongoing plight of the Northern Rocky Mountain gray wolf Friends of the Clearwater has dedicated a page to the species and the many issues surrounding the decision to de-list, Idaho's hunting season, and what may be on the horizon. This page will be permanent and will updated regularly. Please bookmark it for quick reference. As part of this effort we would like to hear from you. Please contact us with information or stories you find relevant and would like to share.
