Volunteers Needed

As part of an ongoing research project studying the Giant Palouse earthworm on Palouse prairie remnants, I am looking for one or two volunteers for field work. This project is funded by the National Science Foundation through the University of Idaho. Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain field experience by studying the only native species of earthworm in a critically endangered ecosystem. Volunteers must commit to at least two field days a week beginning May 20 and ending August 2. This will be physically demanding field work to assess the soil properties of Palouse prairie remnants, as well as collect DNA samples of the Giant Palouse earthworm.

If you are able to commit to at least two field days a week for this coming summer, then please contact me at baug2120@vandals.uidaho.edu. Please include a short paragraph telling me a little bit about yourself, your education and experience, and why you are interested in volunteering to assist with this research.
