Howdy Friends! Thank you to everyone who attended the Annual Membership Meeting on November 5th. I’ll be sending an email about event and awards we handed out next week. For those of you who couldn’t attend, consider joining us for an Ugly Sweater FOC hangout via Zoom next Friday on November 18th. You can email me (paul@friendsoftheclearwater.org) for the link.
But first, events! This is an incredibly busy time of year for us at Friends of the Clearwater.
Online Wine Auction – 11/15 to 11/29
Starting next Tuesday, November 15th, we will be hosting an online wine auction fundraiser, “Wine for Wild.” This is the 2nd time we’ve done this online, and after last year’s success we are sticking with it.
From the 15th to the 29th, you can bid at www.32auctions.com/winewild for remarkable wines from the Paso Robles region of California. These are some of the best wines produced in America, and difficult to obtain in our neck of the woods for these prices.
Let me assure you – these are the real deal. Each one has been donated from producers in Paso Robles who support our cause, and are the perfect thing to get before the holiday season.
There are a few items that didn’t sell at the annual meeting, so for those of you who want a sleeping bag for your grandchild for Christmas, now is the time!
Alternative Giving Market of the Palouse – 12/13 (and online)
AGMP is on again this year. If you haven’t donated through AGMP, you should. This event is an amazing opportunity to support the hardworking nonprofits of the Palouse region.
The main event is on December 13th at the Latah County Fairgrounds in Moscow from 5 to 8pm. The main hall will be abuzz with charitable organizations ready to share their story with you.
What I love about the event is the ease of supporting our diverse nonprofit community. Rather than signing 20 checks for 20 organizations, you sign 1 check for 20 organizations. Pick up beautiful postcards at each table, write down how much you want each to get, and let the AGMP volunteers do the rest.
This year, AGMP is running the event online as well, which officially runs from November 25th to December 17th.
Giving Tuesday – 11/29
Giving Tuesday is the largest single day of charitable giving in the United States. After bulldozing fellow shoppers on Black Friday and digitally exhausting yourself on Cyber Monday, overcome your consumerist inclinations by giving back to the organizations that prioritize living well over loving wealth.
If you are wondering how to help Friends of the Clearwater this holiday season, consider hosting a fundraiser on your Facebook profile.
Your friends and family want to support what you deeply care about. Lucky for the Clearwater, that means wild rivers, ancient forests, and native wildlife.
It’s a huge way to help us out during the most important fundraising time of the year.
Thank you and happy trails!
